The smelters’ high production costs served to keep Chinese silicomanganese (SiMn) prices stable over the past week, with the price of the 6517 grade SiMn in North China hovering at Yuan 6,600/tonne ($932/t) EXW including the 13% VAT as of June 28, the same level as one week before, according to Mysteel’s database.
